Various information needed when creating/upgrading a Linux server.

Whenever possible, LDAP Users and Groups will be used/created in place of local accounts on a server.


Additional WSU Linux Packages
Type Description
WSU Linux Package Name List of one or more WSU packages to be installed.
Server List List of one or more Linux servers to install the WSU Linux packages on.
Justification Business case or reason for requesting the WSU package.
Other Details Any additional details (Optional).
Information needed to install WSU Linux packages.

GroupID creation
Type Description
GroupID This is the primary or supplementary group ID for a login id. It should not contain capital letters.
Server List List of one or more Linux servers to install the group ID on.
LDAP or Local Is this a LDAP or a Local group ID.
Justification Business case or reason for requesting the group ID.
Other Details Any additional details (Optional).
Information needed to create a LDAP or Local Group ID.

File System creation
Type Description
File System Name The mount point name for the file system.
Server List List of one or more Linux servers to create the file system on.
Size The size in GB for the file system.
Owner ID The file system User owner.
Group ID The file system Group owner.
Justification Business case or reason for requesting the Group ID.
Other Details Any additional details (Optional).
Information needed to create a file system.

UserID creation
Type Description
UserID This is the login id. It should not contain capital letters.
Server List List of one or more Linux servers to create the User ID on.
LDAP or Local Is this a LDAP or a Local User ID.
Primary Group The primary Group ID for this user. It should not contain capital letters.
Supplementary Groups Any additional supplementary Groups. It should not contain capital letters.
GECOS The comment field.
Home Directory The User home directory. Include a File System request if necessary.
Shell The program to run at login. Defaults to /bin/bash.
Justification Business case or reason for requesting the Login ID.
Other Details Any additional details (Optional).
Information needed to create a LDAP or Local User ID.
